SYMBIOSIS OF THE HISTORY OF SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY AND ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL HISTORY
(Symbióza dějin věd a techniky a hospodářských a sociálních dějin)
Mutually advantageous coexistence of named branches of historical research comes from the experience and their often common subjects though they are to be studied with regard to different approaches and methods.
Author is a historian by profession, teaching at the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University and dealing more with the latter historical branch. He emphasises the importance of the history of science and technology for study of the history of mankind not only in the last centuries and recognises it as an independent discipline with necessity of special university training. The contribution is closed with belief that it could profit from the recent development in his own branch in the Czech republic.

(Technokratické tendence v národohospodářském ústavu mezi dvěma světovými válkami)
Author aims to fill out her own studies of the Institute with the help of continuing research of archival documentation, of annual reports of the Institute and its members files. She is interested in its significant members working in the independent Czechoslovakia in many fields—in economy, politics, universities (e.g. Hanus Karlik, Gustav Heidler, Jan Basta, Rudolf Hotowetz or Vladimir List). Their activities and attempts to rationalise state and economic processes in the decisive sphere are described in the framework of their curricula vitae.
